The Alan Parson's Project...

If you were around in the 70s and 80s, you were no doubt exposed to the sheer cool factor of The Alan Parson's Project, a band that put out a vast variety of songs during that era.  When I listen to their music, I'm struck by how technogeeky it is.  I'm also struck by how good it still sounds.

I think the first song I ever knew of as an Alan Parson's Project number is "Time"...

This song was popular in the early 80s and really reflects the era.  On the other hand, I still think of it as a majestic piece of music, with its vivid lyrics and flowing nuances.  I still love it today.

Another song from that time period is "Eye In The Sky"...

This particular version includes "Sirius", which is sort of a cool intro to this song.

As I got older, I realized that other songs I knew of back in the day were also Alan Parson's Project compositions.

"Games People Play"

"I Wouldn't Want To Be Like You"

And then as I got older, they put out a few more hits like...

"Don't Answer Me"

And "Limelight", which features a lead singer who isn't Peter Gabriel but really sounds like him...

I could probably listen to this band all day.  I'm geeky like that.
