It's Christmas time... Time for the Osmonds!

I already blogged about the Osmonds' Christmas specials on my other blog.  I don't know why, but I find myself drawn to YouTube videos of their many Christmas specials from the late 1970s and early 80s.  Even though I was around during those years, I didn't watch them then.  I had vaguely heard of Donny and Marie, but I was a little young to care much about them when they first went on the air and was more interested in The Muppets beyond that time.

Anyway, as it's Christmas time and we've sort of had a Christmas miracle... (at least thus far), maybe it's time for some Osmond Christmas magic!  I think I'd rather be an Osmond than a Jackson, anyway.

From 1978

Somewhat awesome performance in Washington, DC 1984...  I may not like their religious beliefs, but I recognize good harmonies.

Hilarious.  Marie Osmond has current fundie Kirk Cameron on her Christmas special circa late 1980s.  Check out Kirk's insane mullet.  I learned while we were in Scotland, "kirk" means church.  Go figure.

All the brothers and Marie sing Christmas songs with their families.  I like how Merrill looks like he's about to discipline his son after their performance.

And my all time favorite... the Osmond wives circa 1978.  Love how they all wear frumpy sweatshirts with their husband's names on them... and the sassy fake musical number at the end starring all the Osmonds.
