U Stink But I Love U

Wow... a true blast from the past.  I literally haven't thought of this song since 1989 or so.  For some reason, the chorus popped into my head...  So here it is.  Mucky Pup's very unique addition to the music of my youth.

Rotten.

I got a kick out of the video because it's introduced by Adam Curry, an MTV veejay.  I guess this band came to fame because the creator of the Bloom County comic strip was a fan and made them the house band, Billy and the Boingers.

Well... I'm not sure they had much more going on beyond this.  Looking at their YouTube channel, I see a few more videos that came out in the 90s.  Moreover, I'm pretty sure I was introduced to this by my ex best friend, who watched a lot more MTV than I did.  But it's kind of fun listening to it again after all these years.  Damn... I am getting old.

Haul Yo Heiny Outta Bed!

I thought I would never hear this again, but some enterprising soul has posted it on YouTube.  Now I can share it with you!

I used to listen to this on morning radio back in the late 1980s.

For some reason, I thought of this old recording yesterday and had to play it for Bill.  Maybe it's not as funny as it was when I was in high school, but it definitely qualifies as crap from the past that belongs in my Dungeon.

Morning radio used to be pretty cool.  I wouldn't know how cool it is now, since I never listen to the radio anymore.

Richard Marx...

You could not grow up in the 1980s and not be exposed to Richard Marx... unless, of course, you were raised by religious fundamentalists.

He was the king of sappy love ballads like "Right Here Waiting"...

"Endless Summer Nights"

and the ever popular "Hold On To The Nights"...

And he had a few rockin' songs like

"Should've Known Better"

"Angelia"

and "Hazard", which barely counts as a "rocker"... it's more of a ballad.

For some reason, I had a Richard Marx song bouncing around in my brain and it took me back to my teen years.  I was never a big fan of Richard Marx's music, but now I'm oddly tempted to download one of his albums...  and maybe one of his wife's efforts, too...

Animotion "Room to Move" with vocals by Cynthia Rhodes... you might remember her as an actress/dancer from Dirty Dancing and Staying Alive.  She and Richard Marx have been married for 23 years!
