I never knew Joe Dolce sang this...

Joe Dolce is best known for "Shaduppa Your Face" from 1980... But it turns out he also sang "If You Want to Be Happy For the Rest of Your Life..."

Joe Dolce's best known hit...

The song as it was originally conceived by Jimmy Soul...

I'm not sure Joe Dolce made this song better, but at least he didn't refer to "ugly women".  By the way, Dolce is not Italian, but you probably knew that.  I love this kind of shitty music from the early 80s.  Reminds me of a better time, though I wouldn't want to repeat my childhood.

I think watching A Very Brady Christmas yesterday has fried my brain.

For dads...

In honor of Father's Day, I thought I'd write a little something about this classic song by Harry Belafonte, who is joined here with the late Nat King Cole.  The first time I heard "Mama Look A Boo Boo", I was a college student and my friend Donna sang it to me.  It was funny enough to hear her sing it.

Years later, when Donna and I hooked up on Facebook, she posted a link to that song on my wall and I thought it was hilarious.  Listening to the lyrics, I think it's very appropriate.

And so is this classic clip from Bill Cosby's classic film, Himself.

A little fatherly advice from Jimmy Soul...  Happy Father's Day, everybody.
