About nine years ago, my husband and I made an impulse purchase of Bose companion speakers for my PC. They were damn good speakers and they didn't even cost that much. Back then, we were pretty broke... I doubt we paid more than $100 for them. I put them away, though, when I got my Mac because I erroneously believed they wouldn't work with my new computer.
Since I have rediscovered singing, I suddenly realized how much I missed having good speakers on my computer. I often watch videos, play games, and listen to music on my computer. While the internal speakers are good enough for a lot of that stuff, they have limitations when it comes to listening critically to music. So last night, I pulled out the old Bose speakers and managed to hook them up to my machine... and whoa! They made a big difference.
Later today, maybe I'll play around with them and try recording with new speakers, which will hopefully amplify things a bit. Should be interesting to see how it all turns out!
