In June 2009, Bill and I took a Baltic cruise on Royal Caribbean's Vision of the Seas. For some reason, they were showing old reruns of Ozzie and Harriet. Ricky Nelson was a teen star at the time and I remember him singing the song "Hello, Mary Lou".
Given my obsession with the now defunct show 7th Heaven and the fact that the former stars have been in the news a bit lately, I am reminded that Stephen Collins' character, Eric Camden, was a fan... Actually, so was Stephen Collins. He made an album with Ricky/Rick Nelson covers on it.
This isn't from the episode... here in Germany, copyright protection is alive and well... You get the idea.

Stephen Collins as RevCam talks about Ricky Nelson... Can't watch it here, but maybe you can wherever you are.
Heard CCR's version this morning... It was pretty damn good...
That Mary Lou sure got around. I never really paid much attention to Ricky Nelson when he was still living and never got into his sons' band, Nelson, but I must admit he was quite the sexpot. I can see why people liked him so much and why RevCam wanted to be like him.
This is from the episode... Ricky Nelson looks dreamy in flannel, doesn't he? He could be my cowpoke anytime.
I really need to find something else to watch on TV. Now that I'm in Germany, I can't watch Dr. Phil anymore.
