It's so tough to be an adult...

It's only fitting that I would follow up Jordy's song about childhood with this song about being grown up. "I'm An Adult Now" was popular when I was a teenager...  It's pretty cringeworthy, but cracks me up with every listen.

As I sit here nursing my sore shoulder, I can see why being an adult is tough.

I've been to paradise...

I heard this song yesterday on a Desperate Housewives rerun.  I think it's a very corny song, but I have to admit to relating to the music.  If you've ever seen my other blog, The Overeducated Housewife, you understand why.

Actually, I understand this song from both sides.  I am myself childless, a singer, and a world traveler.  I am also a housewife, a role that often leaves me feeling lonely, unfulfilled, and bored out of my mind.

That being said, this song is still cheesy.  It's so cheesy it ought to be in the Kraft Hall of Fame.

I never knew the devil's eyes were blue... Terry Gregory vs Terri Gibbs

I didn't plan to do a second post today, but my husband and I were on our way to Williams-Sonoma and I had my iPod plugged in... lo and behold, a truly craptastic song from the early 80s came on.  This was a country song, but it must have crossed over somewhat because I heard it.  The early 80s was a time when I was not digging country much...

Anyway, without further ado...

Here's another song that mentions a devil with blue eyes...

I think Terri Gibbs wins this round.
