My childhood was rife with songs by singer-songwriter types. I'm not just talking about guys like James Taylor, Dan Fogelberg, or Jim Croce. I'm talking about some guys who sang and wrote a song, then kind of faded away... Check out these singer-songwriters who were sorta one hit wonders.
Too cool.
Too cool.
The only one of those guys I've even heard of is J.D. Souther, who I believe recorded something with James Taylor.
ReplyDeleteMy personal fsvorite among the folk singer types, other than Peter, Paul, and Mary, who were a class in and of themselves, was (and still is, I suppose)
Gordon Lightfoot.
J.D. Souther sang "Her Town Too" with James Taylor. He also wrote songs with The Eagles. I think he's better known as a songwriter than a singer.
ReplyDeleteI haven't listened much to Peter, Paul, and Mary except for "Puff The Magic Dragon", of course. I do like Gordon Lightfoot, though.
