You could take my heart away...

This song defines the top 40 sound of 1981... Silver Condor was kind of a one hit wonder band and their song "You Could Take My Heart Away" was on the radio all the time back then.  I remember being in 4th grade and thinking it was the BOMB.  Now that I'm much older, it sounds hopelessly dated and commercial.  I can understand why people like it.  I can understand why 9 year old me liked it.  But I don't think it holds up quite as well in 2012.  Still, it remains kind of a guilty pleasure.

These guys are pretty clearly talented studio musicians who formed a band, but none of them have the looks, charisma, or personality to be big stars.  They're not unlike country band Restless Heart in that regard.  Actually, I think Restless Heart is a better band, even though they channel The Eagles too much.
