Iris DeMent... where have you been all my life?

Last night, I was buying stuff off Amazon and I got a suggestive sell for an artist I had never heard of, Iris DeMent.  I downloaded her latest album, Sing The Delta on a whim.  My husband and I listened to it last night and loved it.  I started researching her and found out she was born in a town very close to my husband's mother's hometown in Arkansas.

Apparently, Iris DeMent has been around forever, but hasn't released too many albums.  Her latest is only her fifth in about twenty years.  But man... what a set of pipes that woman has.  I need to get more of her stuff.  She reminds me of Emmylou Harris, with a smattering of Linda Ronstadt, Gillian Welch, and Dolly Parton thrown in for good measure...
