One toke over the line...

Brewer & Shipley had a big hit with their song, "One Toke Over The Line"…   The song had sort of a gospel sound to it, so I guess it's natural that Lawrence Welk thought it was about religion.  I can only imagine how people reacted when "attractive couple" Gail Farrell and Dick Dale sang this on the show…

I think the announcer knew what the song was about, given the way he almost chokes as he introduces it.  But Lawrence Welk clearly had no idea whatsoever…  I know I already blogged about this, but I just had to mention it again.  Because it's just that hilarious.
