Sometimes When We Touch...

Ugh... this song has a pretty melody, but the lyrics are a bit cheesy...

Dan Hill sings it in 1977...

It always takes me back to a time when if you had a face for radio, you could still be a famous singer. Since I've been doing a lot of karaoke lately, I've noticed that this song was covered a few times and even made into a duet.

I had no idea Rod Stewart sang this!

Manny Pacquaio is a new singer to me, but apparently Dan Hill sang backup for him on this...

Here's Dottie West doing it country style...

And here's Tammy Wynette and Mark Gray doing it 80s duet style...

It is a pretty song.  Maybe I should rethink my feelings about it.  It's just so mushy and personal...  and hard to imagine a guy like Dan Hill getting all passionate.  He's the same guy who sang "Can't We Try" and "I Can Dream About You" in the 80s, two other songs that a lot of people liked who were sensitive...  yikes.

Long live 70s era love songs!
