Here's a song you haven't heard in ages...

If you were around in the 80s, you no doubt remember the great Pia Zadora, who was an "actress/singer" back then.  I remember she had kind of a bad reputation for putting out crap.  I don't know that I ever saw any of her films, but I do remember a couple of her 80s era pop songs.  This morning, she was in the news because she got hurt in a golf cart accident.  Last year, she was in the news for being arrested on domestic violence charges.  But I will always remember her for "The Clapping Song" from the early 80s...

This song was popular when I was in the 5th grade.  It's actually even older than that.  Pia's version was an "updated" cover.

And here she's singing "When The Rain Begins to Fall" with Jermaine Jackson...  Check out Jermaine's mullet!

What the fuck?

This makes me want to go to Vegas for sure...

Not for nothing, but Pia really is entertaining in her own way...  I hope she heals quickly after her golf cart mishap.

Godley & Creme...

Yikes!  If you were around in the mid 1980s and listened to Top 40 radio, you no doubt have heard this song by Godley & Creme.  It's called "Cry" and basically sounds like someone shrieking.  I have a double disc CD set that includes this song, which I had pretty much forgotten about until I listened to this song on that set.

It always surprises me when I realize how much I used to pay attention to pop music.  Sometime in the early 1990s, I lost interest in pop.  So I'm left with these obscure old songs, rattling around in the back of my brain.
