Hall and Oates

No blog about 70s and 80s music would be complete without mention of Daryl Hall and John Oates.  They got their start in the late 60s and were on top of the charts for the next fifteen years or so.  The other day, I watched an icky movie about baton twirling and the two protagonists, 80s actresses Erin Moran and Lisa Whelchel, were singing along to one of my favorite Hall & Oates tunes...

Hall & Oates does this better than any cover artist...  "Kiss On My List" is pure pop perfection.  It's not quite as sultry as "She's Gone"...

or  "Do What You Want, Be Who You Are"...

"Sara Smile" is one very sweet love song...

Unlike "Maneater" or "Family Man"

Where have all the years gone?  And why do I feel so old now when I turn on the radio?
