What? No Supertramp?

I can't believe I have apparently neglected to write about Supertramp on this blog.  That was one of my favorite bands of the 70s and 80s.  I still love their music today, even though the band as I loved it long ago dissolved.  Rick Davies and Roger Hodgson were the singers and songwriters and they made some great music together, but they had a collision of goals and went their separate ways after 1982's Famous Last Words.

Actually, Famous Last Words has the distinction of being one of the very first albums I ever purchased with my own money.  I loved the song "It's Raining Again".  I don't know why.  I just did.  For that reason, I had to have the LP.  Years later, I bought the vastly superior Breakfast in America.

Supertramp is on my mind today because of some news I got last night about an ex friend of mine.  We shared a mutual affection of Supertramp, so it's only fitting that news of her would make me think of them.  I have already written about which song inspired me on my main blog, so I won't write more here...

I am a big fan of "Give A Little Bit"...

Whoa... here he's singing "It's Raining Again" in Stuttgart...

I might have to hunker down and listen to some primo 70s and 80s era pop/rock...

Ooh... "Cannonball"... probably their last mainstream hit.

"Dreamer"...  always reminds me of my senior year of high school.

God bless Supertramp and their whiney, whimsical brand of rock n' roll...
