SingSnap's community songbook...

SingSnap rolled out a new feature last week.  It's the "community songbook", which allows users to upload their own karaoke tracks to the site for all to enjoy.  It's a pretty cool feature, though personally I'm a little afraid to use it much.  I fear that copyright owners will come a calling.

I did upload one song, though, simply because it's so pretty I wanted to share it with a broad audience.  Six people have viewed it since I recorded it the other day.

I like having lots of songs to sing, but the threat of legal retaliation is real...  Especially from people like Don Henley, who is notoriously down on karaoke.  I love Don Henley's music, but I think he's an asshole who is not very generous with his gifts.  Music is meant to be shared.  I have bought a lot of his music over the years, too.  I guess he has the right to be the way he is, but it does make him look like a very selfish person.

Anyway, I may or may not mess around with it some more today.  I'm finding myself with little to do as we await Christmas.  I don't like to record when Bill is home, so I seldom do.  Maybe today I'll do a little music.  Or maybe I'll watch old episodes of Fame on iTunes.  It's a toss up.

Losing my mojo...

I don't know why, but lately I've been less interested in blogging about music.  I still listen to it all the time and have been learning new songs, but writing about it has taken a back burner.  Fall is usually a good time  to write about music because a lot of albums tend to come out then.  I just picked up Don Henley's latest, which I reviewed on Pop Rock Nation.  I enjoy the album, but I had to force myself to review it.

I'm hoping my mojo will come back soon, especially since I also have Ron Block's latest album ready to review and will be seeing Diana Krall in concert on Wednesday.  The Diana Krall concert was a last minute thing.  A friend had tickets that he bought for his birthday, but he's about to leave Germany and movers are coming to pack him out on the day of the concert.  So he sold the tickets to us...

I thought it was funny, because he was telling me who Diana Krall is.  Of course I know!  I like her music and enjoy emulating her.  I like her husband's music, too...

For now, I need to do something to get back into the mood for music blogging... or maybe I'll just take a break from it for awhile.  Everyone who comes to this blog seems most interested in reading about Mindi and Karen Carpenter, anyway.
